Deputy Commissioner Belagavi, Mohammad Roshan, has directed officials to take firm action to prevent violations of traffic rules and effectively manage congestion at key locations across the city.
Chairing the district-level Road Safety Committee meeting at the DCโs office on Wednesday (January 7), he identified major congestion points including Rani Channamma Circle, Kote Kere, Ashoka Circle, Court Road, RPD Circle, SPM Road, and Gogte Circle. He stressed that appropriate enforcement measures must be taken wherever traffic rules are violated.
The Deputy Commissioner noted that inadequate parking has emerged as a serious issue, particularly in and around the court complex, the DCโs office, the District Registrarโs office, and the Zilla Panchayat. To address this, he instructed officials to identify vacant plots in the city, inform property owners, and initiate tenders to develop these spaces as designated parking areas under departmental oversight.
He further proposed the creation of a public parking system near the court and administrative complexes to provide immediate relief. Additionally, small parcels of land owned by various departments within the city will be identified, tenders will be floated, and paid parking facilities will be introduced for public convenience.
DC Roshan also directed traffic police to physically inspect marked parking areas to ensure their suitability and called for the activation of traffic signals at congestion-prone junctions.
Referring to upcoming infrastructure works, he stated that preparatory road safety measures must be implemented ahead of the proposed flyover construction, adding that the preliminary plans for the flyover are already in place.

The speed breakers so not have markings, there are potholes on the roads. Roads that are dug up are not repaired for ages. Roads inside the cantonment area are the ultimate life hazard. Please take action over these as well.
