Super-Specialty Hospital in Belagavi Set to Open Soon

In a recent meeting chaired by Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharanprakash Patil, significant progress was reported regarding the development of the new super-specialty hospital in Belagavi. District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi announced that the hospital will commence operations soon, following the recruitment of essential staff and the provision of necessary medical equipment.

Minister Jarkiholi highlighted that the hospital, constructed at a cost of Rs 188 crore within the Belagavi Institute of Medical Science (BIMS) premises, will begin functioning once the required 570 A and B category employees are appointed. The facility aims to offer advanced healthcare services, including neurology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, and surgical gastroenterology.

To ensure the hospital’s annual operational needs, an estimated Rs 38 crore grant will be requested from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Additionally, Dr. Patil discussed plans for constructing a nursing hostel and a 450-bed training hospital building within the BIMS campus. He urged the authorities to expedite the ongoing development works to complete them as soon as possible.

The new super-specialty hospital is expected to significantly enhance the quality of healthcare available in the region, providing specialized medical services to the residents of Belagavi and surrounding areas.
