Third Gate RoB – A Bridge Too Far!

Looks like the Third Gate RoB in Belagavi is now officially a “Ruin on Bridge” instead of a Road over Bridge.

For months, citizens have been doing “shock absorbers’ duty” while the PWD, which was handed this RoB by SWR for maintenance, seems to have gone into Permanent Waiting Department mode.

Ironically, it took our traffic police — yes, the same team that manages traffic jams — to fill the potholes. Hats off to them for acting faster than the department actually meant to fix it.

MP Shettar visited and promised work in 7 days. Guess those 7 days were on government calendar time, where days move slower than tenders.
Even with the PWD Minister hailing from Belagavi, the bridge continues to be a daily “trip” — quite literally — for commuters.

People have fallen, vehicles have slipped, but since these mishaps never make it to government files, on paper, the bridge is fine — only citizens are broken.

Everyone knows how it goes — once the Winter Session nears, roads will magically get fixed overnight (no tenders, no delays, just election-grade efficiency).
So apparently, the government knows how to speed up repairs — just not when lives are at stake.

Until then, the Third Gate RoB stands as a monument to red tape, rough rides, and official blindness.

Maybe rename it “Third Gate R.I.P.”Road In Pieces.

  1. We all are DEAF,DUM & BLIND Citizens of this great Belagavi. We are SHAMELESS, UN-UNITED, LETHARGIC, LAZY, LEAST BOTHERED, SCARED…………
Unless we join hands and agitate against the Administration, nothing will happen.
Let’s do RASTA ROKO for ONE HOUR, you will see the results. I have personally experienced it many times

    • Absolutely spot on. You have to force these people into action. When the CM was in Belgaum, he should have been made to travel over it. Shameless

  2. Shame shame shame for Shameless people, first of all cheap road was created, feels as if only 10% of money is utilized for actual work & on top of that third class maintenance.

  4. Will Mr Sateesh Jarkiholi stop dreaming about becoming the CM and attend to this important stretch of one of the busiest roads of Belagavi? If he doesn’t, he can forget about becoming an MLA in the next election!
