In response to a question raised by Jagadish Shettar in the Lok Sabha, Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw provided an update on the development of the Road Over Bridge (ROB) instead of Level Crossing No. 381 in Belagavi City. The project, planned as a 4-lane ROB, is being executed in two phases on a cost-sharing basis.
The first two lanes of the ROB were commissioned on October 12, 2022. However, progress on the construction of the approach road on the Khanapur side for the remaining two lanes was delayed due to a change in the conceptual plan at the behest of the State Government. A revised estimate for the modified scheme has now been sanctioned, paving the way for further work.

Highlighting the broader infrastructure efforts in the state, the Minister shared additional data:
- As of April 1, 2024, Karnataka has 233 Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and 808 Road Under Bridges (RUBs), including those in the Belagavi Lok Sabha constituency.
- Indian Railways has sanctioned 4,200 ROBs/RUBs nationwide at a total cost of ₹92,692 crore.
- Within Karnataka, 105 ROB/RUB projects have been approved at an estimated cost of ₹2,483 crore. This includes seven ROBs in the Belagavi constituency, which are in various stages of planning and execution.
