Police have registered a case against three minors under the Juvenile Justice Act and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in connection with the alleged gang rape of a minor girl.
The incident reportedly took place on May 6 near Savgaon. According to the police, the three boys, known to the girl, allegedly lured her to an agricultural field on the pretext of celebrating a birthday. Two of the juveniles have been taken into custody, while the third is currently at large.
The girl’s parents complained on May 12, following which the case was registered and an investigation was initiated.
Police officials stated that further inquiry is underway.
