The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board of Trustees, under the chairmanship of B.R. Naidu, has announced plans to construct a new Sri Venkateswara temple in Belagavi. The initiative is part of TTD’s broader mission to build 1,000 Venkateswara temples across the country.

The decision was formally approved during the board meeting held on September 16. Announcing the development at a press conference in Sri Venkateswara Temple, Malleswaram, TTD board member S. Naresh Kumar said the new temple would serve devotees from North Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra, reducing the need for long pilgrimages to Tirumala.

The temple will be established on a seven-acre site in Kolikoppa village, near Suvarna Soudha, the Karnataka Assembly’s winter session venue. The location has been chosen for its accessibility to residents and visitors across the region.

With an estimated cost of ₹7.2 crore, the project will be financed through the Srivani Trust. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu is expected to visit Belagavi shortly to inspect the land and oversee initial preparations. Further activities and timelines for the project will be finalized during his visit, Naresh Kumar added.
