The General Manager of the Southwest Railway Zone, Arvind Srivastav, conducted a significant meeting with officials in Hubballi. The meeting, led by Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi, was focused on addressing various railway-related issues in Belagavi district.

Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi presided over the meeting of senior South Western Railway officers to discuss the progress of railway works in Belagavi district. One of the main topics of discussion was the longstanding demand for extending the Vande Bharat Express to Belagavi. Kadadi stressed the importance of this extension for the residents of the district.

He pointed out the slow progress of the new railway line construction from Dharwad via Kittur and instructed officials to expedite the work. Additionally, he called for the resumption of passenger trains between Belagavi and Miraj, with stops at Khanapur, Ghataprabha, and Raibag stations for trains heading to Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

The meeting also addressed the construction of foot overbridges, installation of escalators at platform number 4, initiation of another pitline at Desur, and other infrastructural developments.
