Belagavi Police Enforce Stricter Vehicle Registration Rules to Curb Criminal Activities

Iada Martin Marbaniang, Commissioner of Police in Belagavi has issued a stern warning to vehicle owners, emphasizing the mandatory installation of Registration Number Plates & High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on all vehicles.(Last date of HSRP for vehicles older than 2019 is September 2024). This measure comes after investigations revealed that vehicles without registration numbers are being increasingly used in criminal activities, leading to innocent members of the public becoming victims.

According to the Karnataka Government notification dated April 1, 2019, all types of vehicles registered before this date must now have HSRP (number plates). The deadline for the installation of these plates is set for September.

In the coming days, the Belagavi Police will conduct thorough inspections of all vehicles within the city limits to ensure compliance with registration number plates on the vehicles. Vehicles found without proper registration numbers will be impounded, and the owners will face legal action.
