A severe accident involving a milk tanker and a college bus left more than 16 students from DY Patil Agriculture college Kolhapur were injured on Friday evening. The collision occurred near the zoo in Bhutaramanhatti on National Highway, close to Belagavi.
The students, who were on an educational trip from Kolhapur to Dharwad University, had stopped at the Rani Channamma Mini Zoo near Rani Channamma University. The accident happened as they were returning to Kolhapur after their visit.
Following the accident, the injured students were promptly taken to BIMS (Civil) Hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have registered a case regarding the incident at the Yamakanamaradi Police Station.
