Manhunt Underway for Ticketless Passenger Who Fatally Stabbed Railway Employee Near Belagavi

A large-scale manhunt is currently underway for a suspect who fatally stabbed a railway coach attendant and injured three others, including a traveling ticket examiner (TTE), after being asked to show his ticket on the Chalukya Express at Londa near Belagavi on 16-05/2024.

The tragic incident took place on Thursday evening near Londa railway station. Belagavi Police Commissioner Iada Martin Marbaniang stated that the passenger became confrontational when the TTE requested to see his ticket. The situation quickly escalated when the suspect brandished a knife and attacked the staff member. The coach attendant tragically lost his life while trying to intervene, and two others were injured, with the TTE sustaining minor cuts on his hands.

After the attack, the suspect jumped off the train near Khanapur railway station and fled the scene. Multiple teams have been assembled to track down the perpetrator. Commissioner Marbaniang assured the public that the teams had already been deployed, and the suspect would be apprehended soon.
