Forest department and other NGOs and school chidlren from varoius schools have launched the month long Laksha Vriksha Abhiyan (campaign to plant 1 lakh saplings) and the same was launched in the hill areas near Kakati village.
About 500 acres of forest land near Kakati has been identified for the campaign which is being carried out with the help of the district administration, zilla panchayat, education department and various NGOs.
