When All About Belagavi first analysed the MPLADS recommendations of Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar in November 2025, the data showed 79 recommended works worth nearly โน9.8 crore, with none of the projects marked as completed. A year later, the latest MPLADS dashboard paints a clearer pictureโnot just of how the funds are being allocated, but also of how implementation is progressing.
While several projects have now moved into various stages of execution, the overall pattern of spending has remained largely unchanged. Community infrastructure continues to dominate the list of recommended works, with village-level public buildings accounting for the largest share of the allocation.

Key Observation: Community infrastructureโparticularly village community halls and public buildingsโcontinues to receive the largest share of MPLADS funding in the Belagavi Lok Sabha constituency.
Community Halls Continue to Get the Biggest Share
An analysis of the latest MPLADS data shows that community halls, multi-purpose buildings and public gathering spaces remain the biggest beneficiaries of the scheme. Across the Belagavi Lok Sabha constituency, numerous villages have received recommendations for constructing or upgrading community halls, cultural centres and other public-use buildings.
These projects continue to account for the largest portion of MPLADS funds, far exceeding allocations for sectors such as healthcare, sports or urban civic infrastructure.
Rural Areas Remain the Focus
The latest data also reinforces the strong rural focus of the MPLADS recommendations. Most of the sanctioned works are located in villages across the constituency, reflecting an emphasis on creating durable community assets outside Belagavi city.
This trend remains consistent with last year’s analysis, where rural projects accounted for the overwhelming majority of recommendations.
Libraries, Schools and Public Amenities
Apart from community buildings, the MP has recommended funds for several public libraries, reading rooms and educational infrastructure. Other projects include drinking water facilities, compound walls, internal village roads, public utility structures and basic civic amenities.
While these categories contribute to improving village infrastructure, they collectively account for a smaller share of the total allocation than community buildings.
Limited Allocation for Health and Sports
The latest recommendations continue to show relatively limited investment in healthcare infrastructure, sports facilities, parks and digital public infrastructure.
Given the increasing demand for improved healthcare services, modern classrooms, sports infrastructure and urban civic amenities, these sectors remain comparatively underrepresented in the MPLADS portfolio.
Progress on the Ground
The biggest change over the past year is that several projects have now progressed beyond the recommendation stage. Unlike the initial phase, when virtually all works were awaiting approval or execution, the latest data shows a mix of completed works, projects under implementation and works yet to commence.
The pace of execution will now become an important indicator of the effectiveness of MPLADS spending in the constituency.
Where Is the Money Going?
A broad analysis of the recommendations indicates the following priorities:
- Community halls and public buildings form the largest category.
- Temple precinct infrastructure and public utility buildings account for another significant share.
- Libraries, reading rooms and educational infrastructure receive moderate allocations.
- Drinking water and basic civic amenities continue to receive attention.
- Roads, sports infrastructure and healthcare projects account for a comparatively smaller portion of the funds.
Looking Ahead
With additional MPLADS funds becoming available each financial year, the focus will increasingly shift from announcing projects to ensuring their timely completion and equitable distribution across the constituency.
The latest data suggests that Jagadish Shettar has maintained a clear priority towards community infrastructure in rural Belagavi. Whether future allocations expand to include larger investments in healthcare, education, digital infrastructure, urban civic amenities and youth facilities will be closely watched by residents across the district.
As more projects are completed over the coming months, the real measure of success will not be the number of recommendations made, but the quality and long-term public benefit of the assets created under the MPLADS scheme.
