Passengers planning to fly from Belagavi on Star Air may have noticed an unusual pattern on the airline’s booking portal. While flights to Mumbai are available only until August 16, the booking engine shows no services for the route from August 17 onwards. Interestingly, both the Mumbai and Ahmedabad routes reappear from October 25, raising questions about the airline’s schedule.
A search on Star Air’s website currently shows that the Belagavi–Mumbai (IXG–BOM) route is bookable on August 15 and 16. However, from August 17 onwards, the system returns a “No flights were found for the chosen date” message, indicating that no services are available during that period.
The picture changes again from October 25, when the Mumbai route reappears with daily morning departures. The booking engine lists flight S5-111, departing Belagavi at 7:20 am and arriving in Mumbai at 8:25 am, with economy fares starting at ₹6,400.
A similar trend is visible on the Belagavi–Ahmedabad (IXG–AMD) route. No flights are available before October 25, but from that date onwards, Star Air shows services to Ahmedabad, with flight S5-107 departing Belagavi at 7:45 am and arriving in Ahmedabad at 9:25 am.
The simultaneous appearance of both routes from October 25 suggests this may be linked to the airline’s winter schedule, which typically begins in late October. However, Star Air has not made any public announcement regarding a temporary suspension, schedule revision, or delayed loading of flights for the August to October period.
The booking pattern is particularly noteworthy because Star Air had earlier announced enhanced connectivity on the Belagavi–Mumbai sector, making the absence of flights for more than two months unexpected.
At present, it remains unclear whether:
- The August–October flight schedule is yet to be loaded into the reservation system.
- Services have been temporarily suspended due to operational reasons.
- The booking portal is reflecting an inventory or scheduling issue.
Until Star Air issues an official clarification, passengers planning travel from Belagavi during this period may need to explore alternative airlines or routes.
Frequent changes in flight schedules, including starting and suspending services without adequate public communication, create unnecessary inconvenience for passengers. For a city like Belagavi, which already has limited air connectivity, airlines need to provide greater consistency and timely updates so that travellers can plan their journeys with confidence. Stable and reliable air services are essential for the region’s business, tourism, and overall connectivity.
