The Belagavi RTO (KA-22) registered 3,777 vehicles in August 2026, an increase of 203 vehicles, or about 5.7%, over July’s 3,574 registrations.

Based on the monthly figures available, Belagavi has recorded 27,728 vehicle registrations from January to August 2026. March remains the busiest month with 5,510 registrations, while February recorded the lowest at 3,356.

Two-wheelers continue to dominate

Two-wheelers remained overwhelmingly dominant in August, with 2,850 registrations, accounting for about 75.5% of the month’s total.

The next highest categories were Light Motor Vehicles (575), Light Goods Vehicles (114), Three-Wheelers (86), Heavy Goods Vehicles (64) and Light Passenger Vehicles (58).

Petrol E20 leads, EVs remain strong

Fuel-wise, Petrol (E20) topped the list with 1,498 registrations, followed by Petrol (961), Pure EVs (688) and Diesel (349).

The 688 pure EV registrations are notable, although they represent a decline from July’s 817, which was the highest monthly EV figure recorded so far in 2026. August’s EV count, however, remains higher than June (655) and May (628).

TVS tops maker list

TVS Motor Company emerged as the leading manufacturer in August with 652 registrations, followed by Hero MotoCorp (613) and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (603).

The top manufacturers were:

  • TVS Motor Company โ€“ 652
  • Hero MotoCorp โ€“ 613
  • Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India โ€“ 603
  • Suzuki Motorcycle India โ€“ 359
  • Bajaj Auto โ€“ 243
  • Maruti Suzuki India โ€“ 205
  • Royal Enfield โ€“ 137
  • Yamaha โ€“ 101
  • Ather Energy โ€“ 91

Among EV-focused manufacturers, Ather Energy led with 91 registrations, followed by Simple Energy (34), River Mobility (32) and Greaves Electric Mobility (21).

What stands out in August?

August saw a recovery in overall registrations after July’s slight dip, but EV registrations moved in the opposite direction, falling from the July peak of 817 to 688.

The manufacturer battle also remained tight. TVS, which led in July, retained the top position, while Hero moved ahead of Honda in August.

Despite month-to-month fluctuations, one trend remains unchanged: roughly three out of every four vehicles registered in Belagavi are two-wheelers.
