The oath-taking ceremony for the newly inducted ministers to the Basavaraj Bommai-led cabinet was held today at the Glass House of Karnataka Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru.
Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered the Oath of Office and Secrecy to the new Council of Ministers, while CM Bommai, who took oath last week.
For the first time in the last 15 years, none from the Jarkiholi family were in the state cabinet this time. The family has three MLAs in the state, one from Cong, two BJP.
Shashikala Jolle will be the lone women minister in the Basavraj Bommai-led cabinet in Karnataka. An MLA from the Nipani assembly constituency of Belagavi district, she was in charge of the Departments of Women, Child Development and Empowerment of Differently Abled, Senior citizens in the previous Yediyurappa-led cabinet.
Umesh Katti has also been inducted into the cabinet Hukkeri he was Minister of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department in the Yediyurappa-led cabinet.
