About ACPR

The Academy of Comparative Philosophy and Religion (ACPR) was founded in 1924 by Shri Gurudev Dr. R.D. Ranade, a spiritual philosopher of global acclaim. It was formally registered in 1952 and has since been a beacon of spiritual inquiry, interfaith dialogue, and philosophical research. The ACPR Headquarters in Belagavi was inaugurated in 1965 by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the then President of India.

ACPR’s mission is rooted in the spiritual unity of mankind, pursued through lectures, symposia, conferences, publications, and dialogue. As it celebrates its Centenary Year (01.08.2024 to 01.08.2025), ACPR continues to disseminate the universal values of peace, compassion, and philosophical exploration as envisioned by its founder. The Centenary celebrations were inaugurated by Dr. Mohan ji Bhagwat, the Hon. Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Padma Bhushan Shri Kamalesh Patel (Daaji) of Shri Ramchandra Mission, Kanha Shantivanam, Hyderabad on 1st August 2024.

In collaboration with the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi, ACPR also organized a National Seminar titled “Gurudev Dr. R.D. Ranade: His Life, Works and Philosophy” during the centenary year, which was aimed at carrying his timeless teachings to newer generations.
