In a major legal outreach effort, the Rashtriya Lok Adalat organized by the District Legal Services Authority in Belagavi has successfully settled 16,665 cases across 85 courts in the district. Among the noteworthy outcomes, 24 estranged couples were reconciled, effectively putting an end to their ongoing family disputes.

District Legal Services Authority Secretary and Senior Civil Judge Sandeep Patil provided the details, stating that out of 1,47,000 pending cases, around 25,076 cases were earmarked for resolution through this special initiative. Cases that had been stuck in legal limbo for years were finally resolved, offering long-awaited relief to the parties involved.

The Lok Adalat dealt with a wide range of matters, including bank loan defaults, insurance disputes, consumer court complaints, traffic violation notices, tax disputes, labor issues, and family court cases. In total, an impressive 4,62,148 cases—including pre-litigation cases—were resolved, delivering timely justice and financial relief to thousands.

The most emotional and socially significant success was the reconciliation of 24 couples, whose marriages were saved with the assistance of judicial counseling. In one case, even a father-son dispute found resolution.

Additionally, cases involving a total monetary settlement of ₹75 crore 2 lakh 7 thousand 154 were cleared—further underlining the financial impact of this initiative. Many poor citizens and farmers benefitted, avoiding lengthy and costly litigation.

Judge Patil emphasized that such efforts not only reduce the burden on courts but also promote harmony in society by resolving disputes amicably and quickly.
