For the first time in over a decade, Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) has expanded its 24×7 water supply network beyond the initial 10 wards. On Independence Day 2025, four additional wards—two in Belagavi North and two in Belagavi South—were brought under the project, benefiting thousands of households.
The Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (KUIDFC), in collaboration with L&T, commissioned the new service under the Karnataka Urban Water Supply Modernization Project (KUWSMP). The initiative is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted, pressurized water supply to all identified households, addressing long-standing concerns of irregular and inadequate water distribution.
On August 14, South MLA Abhay Patil inaugurated the 24×7 supply at Rani Channamma Nagar Stage 1 & 2 (Zone 6, 3A), covering nearly 1,500 households. The event was attended by Mayor Mangesh Pawar, Deputy Mayor Vani Vilas Joshi, and several dignitaries, along with local residents.

The following day, August 15, PWD Minister and Belagavi District In-charge Minister Satish L. Jarkiholi, along with North MLA Asif (Raju) Sait, launched the trial run in Zone 26 A & B, Kanabargi. This zone will eventually serve around 2,000 households with continuous supply once the trial stabilizes.

With these expansions, Belagavi has taken a significant step towards equitable water access. The 24×7 supply ensures adequate pressure, quality, and reliability, marking a milestone in the city’s journey towards modern urban infrastructure and improving residents’ quality of life.
