Belagavi has earned the distinction of being the second district in Karnataka with the highest number of officially recognized tourist destinations, thanks to the inclusion of three new sites this year. Under the Tourism Policy 2024–29, the district now boasts 100 tourist destinations, up from 97 earlier.

Newly Added Tourist Spots

Trikuteshwara Temple, Vakkund (Bailhongal taluk) – A Jain temple complex surrounded by the Malaprabha River, appearing like an island. Though the ancient village is submerged, the temple corridors still preserve Jain images.

Shivatirth Mahal, Raibag – The summer residence of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj (1904–1911), featuring a scenic 26-acre lake, temples of Amba Bhavani and Shiva, and a dargah of Sufi Saint Abutali. Currently in a dilapidated condition due to neglect.

Koligudda, Raibag taluk – Known for Anand Ashram’s palanquin festival during Dasara and the striking 18-foot-tall black granite idol of Goddess Kalika near Kalika Devi Temple.
