The District Administration has intensified its crackdown on illegally run skin care clinics, following a recent raid on an unlicensed clinic operating without qualified medical personnel. The operators of the clinic were summoned to the office of DC Belagavi Mohammad Roshan for an inquiry into the violations.

During the questioning, DC Roshan issued a stern warning, stating that no clinic or treatment centre will be allowed to operate without adhering to government regulations and obtaining the required permissions. “Any clinic started without proper licences will face strict legal action,” he cautioned.

The health department, police, and district administration recently carried out a joint operation targeting unauthorized skin care clinics across the city. More than 15 illegal centres were identified, many of which were offering skin treatments and dispensing medicines despite having no qualified doctors or valid licences under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments (KPME) Act.

Officials revealed that several clinics were providing treatment for skin diseases without possessing the degrees necessary to perform such medical procedures. In some cases, medicines were being issued directly to patients without proper authorization.

Following the raids, the district administration conducted a detailed review of each action taken, led by the DC. Health department officials who participated in the operation were also present during the inquiry.

Reiterating the administration’s commitment to public safety, DC Mohammad Roshan stressed that stringent action will continue against clinics violating medical regulations. “Operating without permission not only breaks the law but also puts patients’ health at serious risk,” he said.

The administration has urged citizens to verify the credentials and licences of clinics before seeking treatment.
