Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader has instructed officials to discharge their duties with utmost diligence and ensure that no lapses or malpractices occur during the upcoming Winter Session of the Karnataka Legislature, scheduled at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha from December 8 to 19.
Chairing a preparatory meeting here, Khader emphasized that all officers and staff assigned to the session must work with commitment to make the proceedings seamless. Any operational issues during the session must be reported immediately and resolved without delay, he said. He also stressed the need for uninterrupted telecommunication and network facilities, along with proper computer arrangements.
The Speaker directed officials to allocate appropriate space and facilities for protestors, ensure adequate police security, and manage traffic flow around the Suvarna Vidhan Soudha efficiently. A helpline center should be set up to assist visitors, he added. Cultural programs, similar to those held last year, will also be organized, and adequate time should be provided for the public and school students to witness the legislative proceedings.

Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti called for proper transport and accommodation arrangements for ministers, MLAs, officials, employees, and marshals participating in the session. He said expert medical teams must be stationed at the hotels where elected representatives stay, and a fully equipped medical team with an ambulance should be deployed at the Suvarna Vidhan Soudha.
Horatti also announced that a group of 30 selected students from Rani Channamma University, Karnataka University, and Akkamahadevi University will be given extended time to observe the proceedings and learn about the functioning of the legislature.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan briefed the gathering on the preparations, noting that—as in the previous year—twelve committees have been formed to oversee various responsibilities for the successful conduct of the session.
Police Commissioner Bhushan Borse said that robust security arrangements are being put in place. Additional police personnel from other districts will be deployed, with adequate provisions for their accommodation and food.
