Belagavi North MLA Asif Sait and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rahul Shinde conducted a site inspection at Sardar High School on Monday, signalling a fresh push to improve student-centric infrastructure.
A review meeting involving officials from various departments was held at the school auditorium, where it was decided to convert an old, dilapidated room near the main entrance into a well-equipped Chess Park. The initiative aims to provide a constructive recreational space for school and college students and encourage strategic thinking and indoor sports.

During the meeting, MLA Asif Sait announced that โน5 crore has been sanctioned from his MLA grant for the construction of a new academic building within the school premises. He directed the Deputy Director of the School Education Department to vacate the existing Joint Directorโs office building located on the campus and expedite the construction process.
With over 450 students currently enrolled, the need for student amenities was also discussed. It was decided to construct a modern cafeteria, using โน34.30 lakh already sanctioned for new school rooms under the 2025โ26 grants.
ZP CEO Rahul Shinde instructed the concerned departments to immediately prepare and submit the building plans so that work can begin without delay.
The proposed projects are expected to significantly enhance the learning environment and overall campus facilities at Sardar High School.
