Belagavi is set to witness a major administrative infrastructure upgrade with the proposed construction of Praja Soudha – Zilla Adalita Kendra, a modern yet architecturally traditional district office complex within the existing Deputy Commissioner (DC) office premises (Behind the DC office where currently there is parking space) near Channamma Circle, Belagavi.
Project Planning and Design
The architectural planning of the project has been undertaken by the Chief Architect, PWD, Government of Karnataka, based in Bengaluru. The Detailed Project Report (DPR), including structural design, has been prepared by M/s Jalavahini Management Services Pvt Ltd, a multidisciplinary civil consultancy firm headquartered in Dharwad with offices in Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Davanagere.
The design adheres to a traditional architectural style, incorporating ornamental columns, domes, and balustrades, ensuring the structure reflects administrative grandeur while blending with Karnataka’s institutional aesthetic.
Structural Specifications
The proposed building will be a B+Stilt+Ground+3 floor structure (total six levels), constructed using a Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) frame system comprising columns, beams, and slabs supported on RCC footings.

The building will face north towards the main city road, ensuring prominence and accessibility.

Once completed, Praja Soudha will house the entire district administration, serving the needs of the Belagavi district jurisdiction under a single, well-organized campus.
