Bapu: Yes Bittoo.
Bittoo: Today, a resident of P&T Colony in Hanuman Nagar in the city sent me a photo and I am sharing it here. But, can you guess what it represents Bapu?
Bapu: Yes Bittoo. This is some sort of sewage spreading in an unconstrained gutter. This is against what I have been pleading with the people and the Swachhata abhiyan undertaken by the Modi government and the State governments are expected to do its bit.
Bittoo: Yes Bapu, but the Belagavi City Corporation has provided neither proper drainage lines nor gutters for the residents of thus colony for over three decades now.
Bapu: OMG!
Bittoo: At a time when entire world is fighting against epidemic diseases, the BCC seems to be effectively maintaining a potential source of mosquito-borne diseases in this colony Bapu?
Bapu: Hummmmm!
Bittoo: Similar is the fate of several roads and streets in our so called Smart City and second capital of Karnataka Bapu?
Bittoo: But, what did the BCC do with the development funds already collected and the property taxes it is collecting from the residents every year Bapu?
Bapu: I don’t know Bittoo.
Bittoo: One more thing Bapu?
Bapu: Oh! What’s it Bittoo.
Bittoo: I heard some stray dogs strayed into the temporarily high security road served for President’s convoy Bapu. I want to know if the BCC is efficient enough at least to solve the growing menace from stray dogs, pigs and cattle in our city Bapu?
Bapu: I don’t know Bittoo.
This is a citizen-centric new column, wherein the author(Bitto) is an ordinary, politically unaffiliated common man of the city who in his/her inimitable approach takes up various issues with the Bapu’s soul!
