Harshada Humbarwadi, originally from Belagavi and who was perusing her MS in Texas University died in a fatal accident on Saturday(Jan 17).
A fatal car crash Saturday evening on the southbound 5 Freeway near Richards Boulevard claimed the life of a 25-year-old Harshada.
It happened around 11:55 p.m. Saturday. According to reports, a passenger in the front seat reached over and bumped the driver’s arm, causing the driver to steer right. The sudden jolt of the car caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times.
Harshada Humbarwadi was among the four people inside the vehicle. She and another person was ejected upon impact. Paramedics arrived and transported her to a hospital, where she later died.
She was the granddaughter of noted industrialist and SKE Society adviser D S Humbarwadi.
Harshada studied in Divine Providence High School, Belagavi, and GSS College, Belagavi, before pursuing BE in Jain College of Engineering.
The body will reach Belagavi on Monday. The last rites will be performed at Sadashiv Nagar graveyard at 5pm on Monday.
