rob-belagavi-britishIt may be noted that the said Bridge was built by the British and work commenced in 1901 and work was completed in 1905. In 2005 the company which had built the said bridge which has its office in England sent a letter to the Corporation stating that the guarantee of the bridge is over and it would be better if a new one is constructed and the company has no responsibility hence forth.

It is also planned to have a RoB in lieu of the 3rd gate but that will commence later. The existing bridge will have to be first demolished and then the work on the new one can be commenced and hence the traffic will be diverted from Congress road then.
