To encourage house-owners to pay their property tax early, the Belagavi city corporation has come out with an ‘early bird’ scheme. Citizens, who pay property tax for 2017-18 without any previous year arrears before April 30 of this year also will be given a rebate of 5 percent.
People who pay their tax before this month-end, corporation will provide 5 percent rebate on the current demand. After April 30, the scheme will lapse and people cannot avail the tax concession.
The tax rebate will not be applicable to those citizens who no have pending arrears of previous years dues.
It would be very apt for the Belagavi City Corporation to go door to door as they did for collection of arrears in March and issue the Challans to those who want to pay and get the rebate.
Most of the citizens I spoke to dont pay the property tax only because they dont want to go to Corporation office or dont know where it is and then the usual complaint of the officer is not in his chair and so on and so forth.
But What if the Corporation gives the challan at your Door step, will it not help the citizens to pay up early which will be a win in situation for both.
The corporation is already in a dearth of funds and if it can come in early why not and the citizens also save the 5%.
From where to get the Challan
Places to get new Challan (please carry your last years Paid Challan along so that they can make the new one, they dont believe in records) and go to the below mentioned offices to get the Challan for this year –

Its allways there … but 15% hike in Tax .. do consider .. its ok .. plus d education cess plus no not what.. m a regular prompt tax payer in n before time… this yr .. see the fun d hike is 15 % ok agreed … but y d hell i .. u n all have to 15% for d tax allready paid … they r charging 15% more from d year 2014 .. till now … HIGHLIGHT this in your coloum !! i have allready paid u want a recipt i vl post it !!
