The state government has announced a drought relief package of ₹247 crore for Belagavi district, informed District Commissioner Nitesh Patil. Addressing the media, he stated that the amount has been credited to the accounts of 2,68,077 farmers in the district. Previously, ₹69.52 crore had been disbursed as relief, and now an additional ₹247 crore has been released.

Patil highlighted issues concerning farmers whose names differ in the software, those whose bank accounts are not linked with Aadhaar and NPCI, and those with inactive or closed accounts. These farmers have not yet received the relief funds. He urged them to visit their respective banks to resolve these issues, ensuring that the relief money is directly credited to their accounts.

The Belagavi district, which has been severely affected by drought, has seen the state government release ₹247 crore in relief funds for its farmers.

So far, a total of 3,74,000 farmers in the district have received drought relief. Only those who have engaged in sowing activities are eligible for the relief. Farmers facing technical issues such as discrepancies in ID or Aadhaar linkage are advised to rectify these problems at their banks to ensure prompt disbursement of the relief funds, Patil stated.
