Shobha Somanache, the Corporator of Ward 57, and Reshma Patil of Ward 33, are the final nominees for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor, respectively, according to the BJP.

The election to the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the Belagavi City Corporation would be held on Feb 6, 2023 that is after 518 days of being elected.

The post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the Belagavi city corporation has been reserved for Women. The mayor post has been reserved for Women – General while the post of Deputy Mayor has been reserved for Backward Classes B – Women.
