Belgaum lad and founder of High Flyers kite team will get the Best Kite Design Innovation Award 2013 given by the Indian Kite Academy. The award would be presented during the Gujrat Festival in Gujrat in January 2014. The Indian Kite academy selected Sandesh Kaddi for his innovative kites he made during this year and this is a big recognition for in this field of kite flying.
Speaking to AAB, Sandesh said “He was very elated to get this award and also time that people have recognized the talent from smaller cities. This will definitely motivate me to work more.”
Sandesh Kaddi who is a businessman by profession but loves Kites. He developed a liking for the unique hobby of kite flying from his father, Dr M S Kaddi. The Kaddi mansion of very colorful with high flying people and also colorful kites all around. It’s a factory of kites in some sense with kites of various sizes and shapes.
The hobby has been passed on from his father, and following the same tradition Sandesh taught his 7-year-old son, and his wife to fly kites. It’s been ten years for Geeta and Sandesh’s marriage, and since then Geeta has admired and respected her husband’s hobby- kite flying.
Sandesh has participated in numerous kite festivals in India and elsewhere as well. High Flyers recently conducted a kite making camp for school children.
