Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar arrived in Belagavi to partake in the Dasara festivities of Hukkeri Math on Wednesday. In response to rumors of discontent among certain Congress MLAs, Shivakumar firmly denied any rebellion against the party, emphasizing that none of them were opposed to him, including Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, Shivakumar confidently stated that all 136 Congress MLAs were united, dismissing the claims made by BJP leaders who were allegedly spreading such stories. When asked about Satish Jarkiholi leading a group of 20 dissident MLAs on a tour, Shivakumar claimed to be unaware of such activities.

Addressing concerns about potential dissident activities in Belagavi district, Shivakumar assured that no such acts would occur. He explained that Ministers Satish Jarkiholi, Laxmi Hebbalkar, and the district’s MLAs were occupied with personal commitments, which is why they were unable to receive him.

Overall, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s visit to Belagavi for the Dasara celebrations of Hukkeri Math is expected to proceed smoothly, with no signs of internal discord within the Congress party.
