Footpaths should be given priority for urban beautification along with clearing the encroachments on the same, DC Nitesh Patil said in a review meeting held with the various departments.
The complaints related to drinking water should be resolved within 24 hours, DC added.
On significant roads, the footpaths have encroached and hence the pedestrians have to walk on the road. This can’t be tolerated and hence all footpaths must be cleared of encroachments.
Respond immediately to the drinking water problems:
Any complaints related to drinking water in the city should be resolved within 24 hours
Drainage works should be completed on priority as the monsoon season begins. Nalas along the main roads and residential areas should be cleaned frequently.
To provide documentation through e-aasthi software:
DCNitesh Patil told the officials that the government should make it easier for the public to get digital documents for the property covered by the city through “e-aasthi” software.
Applications for the same building permit must be disposed of in a timely manner. He warned that the delay will not be allowed.
Advice on Increasing Tax Collection:
The city has collected 48 percent of the property tax so far this year.
He also instructed the authorities to take necessary steps to protect the assets of the corporation.
Dr Rudresh Ghali, Commissioner of the city corporation, explained the measures being taken to provide better services to the citizens, including drinking water and sanitation.
Visit the Command and Control Center:
He visited the Command and Control Center in Vishweshwaraiah city on Thursday and gathered information about its functions of the same.
Officers discussed various issues including traffic management, bus traffic information and security monitoring.
He advised on improving the “My Belagavi” App service which is being developed under Smart City project.
