Physical classes of Higher education are set to resume from July 26

The physical classes of higher education institutions are set ready to resume from July 26 (Monday) as announced earlier, adhering to Covid-19 norms, DyCM, Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana, who is also the minister of higher education, stated on Sunday.

This is applicable to all the years of the degree, post-graduation, engineering and polytechnic colleges.

Students who have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine are eligible to attend the regular classes and respective staff should have received vaccination at least once. However, students who are willing to attend the off-line classes have to submit the consent letter duly signed by parents in the prescribed format, Narayana informed.

In this regard, The Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) has been issued and institutions are directed to strictly follow the SOPs, DyCM told.

While conducting physical classes the physical distance between person to person should be maintained at all times during the class hours including entry and exit of the students. The institutions should take into account the total number of students and an available number of classrooms and accordingly make arrangements to maintain the physical distance.

The students who are not willing to attend physical classes shall continue to attend online classes and contact classes will be conducted to facilitate get any doubts clarified or Bengaluru.

Narayana said, 74% of students, those who are above 18 have been vaccinated and the remaining will be completed soon.

Other Key Points of SOP:

All the frequently touched areas including furniture, laptops and computers should be sanitized.

Teachers should send content material of each period covering the syllabus for one month in advance through WhatsApp, E-mail, or Telegram. These can be in the form of Video lectures, PowerPoint presentations, E-notes, E-books, Audiobooks, Practice questions etc.

Institutions are advised to map with the nearest Primary Health Centres and anyone found with Covid-19 symptoms should be taken there to get tested.
