Women Entrepreneurs Belagavi ‘WEB’ Association has introduced Eco friendly Ganesha to Belagavi  Lets embrace this opportunity and bring home our very own EcoGanesha!!

eco-ganesha belagaviLord Ganesha widely revered as the remover of obstacles ‘Vigna Harta’ the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. Lord Ganesha is widely worshiped in India during the annual festival, which honors the lord for ten days, starting on Ganesha Chaturthi. The festival begins with people bringing in clay idols of Ganesha, symbolizing Ganesha’s visit. The festival culminates on the day of Ananta Chaturdashi, when idols (murtis) of Ganesha are immersed in the most convenient body of water. Some families have a tradition of immersion on the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, or 7th or the 11th day.

Eco ganesh belagaviThe tradition of bringing in Ganesha home and worshipping him through those 2, 3, 5, 7 or 11 days marked an essence of welcoming home the deity and serenity of Lord Ganesha. People in times old, used to immerse the lord at the end of their worship days into wells and water bodies in their very home. The reason for which was to ensure that Lord Ganesha stays home even after Visarjan. However, due to lack of a well or water body at home, people then started to find a more public water body for the ritual.

EcoGanesha is one such unique idea, which culminates the real essence of Lord Ganesha staying home even after Visarjan in some form or another.
The EcoGanesha is a concept born from nature, by nature.

“Lord Ganesha — I will take birth in my new avatar as ‘EcoGanesha’. After being worshipped in my divine form at your home, I will return back in nature, at your home, bless and protect my devotees and continue to do so, right where you want me to be. After that I will return to nature in the form of a plant to save the environment and humanity. Whoever welcomes me to their home will be blessed with prosperity and happiness for life”.

EcoGanesha celebrates the essence of letting the God remain at home to only come back as a plant. Made from 100% pure clay, soil and seeds, the EcoGanesha idol stands 12inches tall. Consider this a gift to nature by not letting the water bodies be polluted and instead give nature a gift of a tree.

The soil is Coco Peat. Which is 7-8times more porous and humidity retention than red soil. This helps the roots grow easier and more healthily.

This is the most holistic way of celebrating Ganesha Chaturthi. All the best to ‘WEB’. Hope this trend and idea spreads among the masses and we will get to see new and better ways of celebrating the festival.
