On knowing this, farmers in large numbers led by president of Sheti Bachav Samiti Balaram Pote, Devidas Chavan Patil and Subhash Lad gathered at the place to stop the work. But thousands of farmers from Vadgaon, Angol, Shahapur, Halaga, and other villages will lose their fertile land in the process. They were not paid to justify compensations too. Some farmers have gone to court even then NHAI has begun the work. Farmers said only issuing one notification does not make NHAI the landholders and the entire process is not as per law.
