KLS’ Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT) extended the Memorandum of Understanding with EduTecCon Solutions India Private Limited (GATEETC) for the on campus training for GATE.
Owing to the successful performance of students in GATE in 2014 trained under this programme, and their performance in 2015 placement activity, the college decided to maintain the bond with GATEETC for the second consecutive year. Prof. G.S. Nayak, Placement Officer of GIT informed that students trained under this programme have excelled in placements too.
GATE is an online examination jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board, GATE, Department of Higher Education and Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It is administered and conducted in eight zones across the country. GATEETC is a leading organisation in Belgaum which has established itself as trusted name in imparting training for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). It employs a team of competent faculty alumni of IITs and IISc who travel from Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune, and Bangalore. Mr. Siddarth Bennur, CEO of GATEETC, highlighted the importance of GATE. GATE is an entry norm for admission to postgraduate programs in top notch engineering colleges like the IISc, IITs and NITs. Qualifying in GATE entitles students to a scholarship of Rs.12400/- per month for pursuing M.Tech/ MS in any college across India. The rigorous training also helps the students qualify for jobs both at private and public sectors. GATE fulfils the entry norms for jobs in as many as 36 public sector undertakings in India like IOCL, Power Grid, BEL, NELCO, NTPC, BHEL, GAIL, Bharat Petroleum, to name a few. A number of private sector companies also
consider GATE score. Besides, a student who qualifies in GATE is exempted from Ph.D Entrance Test (PET). It requires a minimum of one year of preparation to qualify GATE. Hence the training is beneficial for the 6th semester students. Dr.A.S. Deshpande, Principal of GIT informed, in order
