High alert

After the recent incident of a blast at the Delhi high court the Belgaum district police are on a high alert. The SP, Sandeep Patil in release said that public cooperation is needed to stop such incidents.

With the Ganesh festivites on the high and also the immersion day which is on Sunday elaborate arrangements have been made keeping in view the recent terror threats in the country.

Police constable including senior rank officials from 11 district will overlook the Sunday Ganesh immersion procession which will begin at 4pm from Hutatama Chowk. About 5000 strong police force will be present on Sunday in the city.

On Thursday the SP, DC and other civic authorities visited the entire route of the procession and gave directions for cleaning etc.

The entire procession would be in camera and CCTV cameras will be placed at sensitive places.

All political parties would welcome the procession only on College road.

The route of the immersion procession: Hutatma Chowk, Ramdev Galli, Samadevi Galli, Bogarves, Ramling Khind Galli, Tahshildar Galli, Kapileshwar Talav.
