How to apply for Gruha Lakshmi Scheme (2000) in Karnataka

Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is an ambitious scheme of the Government of Karnataka which provides Rs.2000/- per month through DBT to the female head of the family mentioned in the BPL /APL/ Antyodaya Card.

1. The registration as a beneficiary under the scheme will be from 19/7/2023

2. As already notified the female head of the family in the ration card will be the eligible beneficiary. However, the female head of the family or her husband should not be Income Tax or GST payee.

3. Registration for Gruha Lakshmi can be done in any of the 2 ways.

(i) Each ration card holder who is the female head of the family will be indicated a date, time and venue to register. On the indicated date, time and venue the person has to visit and register.

In rural areas it will be in the nearest Grama-one or Bapuji Seva Kendra. In Urban areas, it will be nearest Karnataka-one or Bangalore-one centre.

(ii) Alternately, a “Praja Pratinidhi” (or citizen. volunteer identified by the Govt.,) will visit every hold and register.

4. The date, time, and venue for registration can be enquired by calling 1902 or sending SMS/Whatsapp message to 8147500500.

5. In case, the beneficiary is unable to visit Grama-one / Bapuji Seva Kendra / Karnataka-one / Bangalore-one service centres on the designated date and time, the beneficiary may visit the same center on the same day or any other day between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

6. The beneficiary has to provide the ration card number, Aadhar card number and Bank account details with pass book (if the beneficiary desires to receive the scheme amount into a bank account other than the bank account linked to her Aadhar number) during registration.

7. Sanction certificate will be issued after registration in Grama-one Bapuji Seva Kendra / Karnataka-one / Bangalore-one service centres.

8. In case registration is done by Praja Pratinidhi, the sanction certificate will be provided later at the doorstep of the beneficiary.

9. In case of registration either by Praja Pratinidhi or at any of the service centres, a text message indicating sanction is sent by SMS to the applicant’s mobile number provided during registration.

10. In case the registration is already done by Grama-one/ Bapuji Seva Kendra / Karnataka-one / Bangalore-one centres and the Praja Pratinidhi tries to register, the system shows that the applicant is already registered.

11. The cash benefit of Rs. 2000/- will be transferred through DBT every month to the bank account which is linked to the Aadhar number of the beneficiary. In case the beneficiary desires, the beneficiary may provide a new bank account to which Rs. 2000/- will be transferred through RTGS.

12. There is no need to pay any fees for registration.

13. All registration processes will be free of cost.

14. There is no Last date for registration

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, state Woman and Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar said if the Congress national leaders do not come on Monday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will launch the scheme on Wednesday.

Under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, women heads of households across the state would receive Rs 2,000 every month.

Those possessing APL/BPL and Antyodaya cards can avail the benefit. However, the income tax and GST payers cannot, the minister told reporters. There is no deadline for the enrollment of the scheme because it is a continuous process the minister added.

She also warned of stringent action against those demanding money for the enrollment of the scheme.

  1. Instead of giving 2000 rupees the government can provide education free and medical facilities which is must for all citizens
