Londa-Miraj rail route to be electrified

In the month of August 2017, POWERGRID has partnered with Indian Railway for Electrification of Un-electrified Railway Tracks under this the Londa-Miraj 189 rkm at a Cost Rs 208.15 crore has been proposed.

Indian Railways had launched Mission Electrification on 3rd Nov’16 for electrification of 24,400 route kilometre (rkm) of BG network in next five years i.e. almost equal to what has been done from introduction of electric traction since 3rd Feb’1925.

electrificationHistory4In order to make this ambitious project successful, Indian Railways for the first time has changed from Business as usual (BAU) approach and entrusted new electrification works not only to Railway PSUs like Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Indian Railway Construction Company (IRCON) and Rail India Techno Economic Service (RITES) but also to Power Grid Corporation India Limited (PGCIL), a well known transmission sector PSU under Ministry of Power (MoP). As part of Mission Electrification, in recent past 10 different electrification projects covering 2516 route kilometer at a cost of about Rs 2797 Cr. have been finalized in a short duration.

The actual time when the same would be complete is not known.

  1. We have only one overnight express train Viz Bangalore Miraj Kolhapur Rani Chennamma Exp which is always overcrowded. Please introduce an overnight Train between Bangalore-Belagavi on regular basis, presently festival special Train is being run between Bangalore – Belagavi. Also a day time express Train is desired otherwise attach additional coaches between Bangalore/Mysore – Miraj by Train Nos.11021/22 and 11005/6 ; 11035/6

Unfortunately Karnataka is the 3rd state in India having the weakest Railway Infrastructure.Most of the Trunk Routes pass through the Peripheral portions of Karnataka ie_Raichur,Gulbarga,Bangalore,Bangerpet,Mangalore There was no improvement in the Railway Infrastructure in karnatak inspite of many Railway Ministries being from Karnataka.All the neighboring States and even the backward states like Bihar have a Electrified Double Track. God knows when the Railway Structure in Karnataka will improve. .

  3. ಮೀಟರ್ ಗೆಜನಿಂದ ಬ್ರಾಡ ಗೆಜಿಗೆ ತಂದ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಜಾಫರ್ ಶರೀಫ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಭರದಿಂದ ಸಾಗಿದೆ ಬೇಗ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಈಗ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯ ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ ರೈಲು ಒಂದೇ ಇದೆ ಈ ಭಾಗದ ಜನರ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಹೋಗಲು ಬಹಳ ತೊಂದರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಒಂದು ಫಾಸ್ಟ್ ಫ್ಯಾಸಂಜರ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಸೂಪರ್ ಫಾಸ್ಟ್ ರೈಲು ಬೇಕು ಅದರಿಂದ ಈ ಭಾಗದ ಬಹು ದಿನಗಳ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಈಡೇರಿದ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ಇತ್ತ ಗಮನಹರಿಸಿ

  4. When governments huge money goes in imports of oil & Diesel rail engines consuming heavy oil why can’t governments push for electrification of rail routes… specially most neglected Bangalore-Londa-miraj-up to Pune…. Request to our Dynamic Rail minister Piyush Goel ji….
