Road widening or masterplan implementation in the state will have to be done only after land acquisition is done and compensation is paid
The state govt. in a new order has specifically stated that any works under the masterplan which includes Road widening can be done only after the Land acquisition procedure is completed. Which means it has to be done as done in the revenue department.
New Rules –
- Notice of Land Acquisition must be issued
Cash compensation is a must to the land holder or Building owner- TDR has been scrapped
- If above rules are not followed the officials will be held responsible.
- Properties coming under acquisition must be surveyed
Details of each building with details of area to be acquired- Permission from Urban development Authority – for Belagavi BUDA will have to give permission
This new order will bring some relief to the hundreds of citizens who have filed cases against the Corporation for getting compensation for the road widening.
This order may also put a brake on the road widening process in the city where no Compensation was paid to anyone and a few people had approached the court for their rightful redressal.
The notification has been issued on 23 September and the Govt was forced to make such a notification after there were many cases filed in the courts against the road widening in Bellary, Bilagi where only TDR was offered as compensation.
In Belagavi Raviwar peth, Mensi Galli, Kalmath Road, Ramlingkhind Galli, Patil Galli, Fort Road, Ramdev galli, Bhendi Bazar were planned for Road widening. In a few places work began and in some areas it never took off as the citizens approached the court for compensation.
