Yesterday as the Cantonment officials came to take measurements of the bunglows for resumption the various bunglow owners had gathered there already and said that Measurement cannot be done as section 305 of the Cantonments act 2006 does not give any permission for measuring land for resumption purpose. The said section only allows for land measurement in case of encroachment and hence the resolution passed by the Board is also void.
The personnel on duty then contacted their higher officials and as per their order the measurement has been stopped for now.
The Cantonment board had issued notices to 14 bunglow owners from BC 45 TO 75 for land measurement for resumption of the said bunglows.
