The mortal remains of four Belagavi residents who lost their lives in the stampede at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, will be airlifted to Belagavi this evening. The bodies have been transported to Delhi and are scheduled to depart for Belagavi at 3 PM, with arrival at Sambra Airport expected by 5:30 PM.
The deceased have been identified as Jyoti Hatrarwad (44) and her daughter Megha (24) from Vadagaon, Arun Koparde (61) from Shetti Galli, and Mahadevi Bavanur (48) from Shivaji Nagar. They were part of a 13-member group from Belagavi that had travelled to Prayagraj on Sunday.
Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan confirmed the incident and expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss. He stated that the district administration is extending full support to the bereaved families in bringing back the mortal remains for the final rites.

To facilitate the repatriation process, Additional Superintendent of Police Shruthi N.S. and Special Deputy Commissioner Harsha Shetty have been appointed as nodal officers to oversee the arrangements.
