The mortal remains of four Belagavi residents who lost their lives in the stampede at the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela have reached Delhi. They are being transported to Belagavi in separate flights due to logistical delays.
The bodies of Arun Koparde and Mahadevi Bhavnur, and Jyoti and Megha Hattarvat who were transported from Prayagraj in two ambulances, were scheduled to be airlifted together. However, while one ambulance reached Delhi Airport on time, the other was delayed by 15 minutes. As a result, Arun Koparde and Mahadevi Bhavnur’s remains are being flown from Delhi in the afternoon and are expected to arrive at Belagavi Airport around 5:30 PM.
Meanwhile, the remains of Jyoti Hattarvat and her daughter Megha, who were in the delayed ambulance, will be transported on a later flight departing Delhi at 5:40 PM and arriving in Goa at 8:30 PM. From there, they will be brought to Belagavi by road, with their arrival expected around midnight.

Family members and local authorities are coordinating efforts to ensure the timely transportation and dignified return of the deceased to their hometown for the final rites.
