The Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) has issued a public advisory warning residents against using borewells and open well water for drinking purposes.

According to laboratory test reports, the water from these sources is not safe for consumption and could pose health risks. Despite this, a significant portion of Belagavi’s population continues to rely on borewells and open wells for their water needs.

In the interest of public health, KUIDFC, in coordination with the Belagavi Municipal Corporation, has urged residents to use only the treated and clean drinking water supplied by the municipality. Authorities emphasize that ignoring this advisory could lead to serious health concerns.

  1. KUIDFC should define what are the risk factors if borewell as well as open well water is consumed by Belgaum residents. Especially when corporation water is supplied once in week in many ares of the city corporation. Why suddenly this advisory. Is there is threat of any pandemic?…. The authority should openly declare the threat factor otherwise it will spread panic wave amongst the citizens of Belgaum.

  2. There is no evidence of any kind from the any hospital for any type of waterborne disease. All of sudden there is warning. With what the water is contaminated , what type of diseases nothing is mentioned. Is the report brought to the notice of corpation commisioner and DC? Why are they spreading panic ?

  3. Its simple, better get your water tested in a water testing laboratory in belgaum, to check if its potable or not. Its better to get analytical testing report if you are the owner of bore or well water to ensure the quality of water.
