While the Covid scare is rising again, for the convenience of the people a new Covid testing Centre is being inaugurated in Belagavi at Maratha Mandal Dental College (MMDC), Belagavi on Tuesday 23rd February 2021 at 10.30 am.
The centre is a joint venture of MMDC and Lakeview Goaves Hospital, supported by Rotary Club of Belgaum.
The city already has BIMS, KLE Hospital and the ICMR lab which do the COVID testing.
The principal of Maratha Mandal Dental College Dr. Ramakant Nayak informed that Deputy Commissioner Hon. Shri M G Hiremath and Governor of Rotary International District – 3170, Rtn Sangram Patil will be inaugurating the state of art Covid Testing Centre in the presence of Ann Smt Utkarsha Patil and the President of Maratha Mandal Smt Rajshree Nagaraju Halgekar.
“The kiosk for collection of throat swab samples has been established at Lakeview Goaves Hospital and the testing will be done on the State of the Art RTPCR -Trunaat Machine set up at MMDC, Belagavi, Dr Shashikant Kulgod of the Lakeview Goaves Hospital said. Home collection facility has also been set up he said.
“ In the current situation of a surge in Covid cases and a possibility of a second wave, this centre will hugely benefit the people of Belagavi city due to the convenience of home testing and the reports which will be given within one day ” President of Rotary Club of Belgaum Dr K. M Keluskar ascertained.
