On 13-04-2018 a baby which was playing near his house accidentally fell into the well. Master. Nikhil Dayanandha Jituri from Vadgaon saw the baby and immediately got down into the well with the help of a motor pipe and rescued the baby.
For this act of bravery, he has been conferred the HOYSALA & KELADI CHENNAMMA BRAVERY AWARDS FOR CHILDREN.
Also Master. Siddappa K Hosatti, Vaderahatti, Gokak Taluk, Belagavi District aged 14 has also been conferred the award for his act of bravery.
On 08-05-2018 a boy accidentally fell into Indraveni Pond in Vaderahatti village and was drowning. Master Siddappa K. Hosatti who heard the cry of this boy ran to rescue him. He jumped into the pond without fearing the force of the water and rescued the drowning boy and saved his life.
The Department of Women and Child Development is celebrating Children’s day Programme on 14th November every year. This Year also the Children’s Day was supposed to be held on 14th November 2018 but it was postponed as per the Government order dated: 12.11.2018 due to unfortunate demice of Shri Ananth kumar, Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India. The same programme will be held on 05.12.2018 at 9.30 AM in Jawahar BalBhavan, Cubbon Park, Bengaluru. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka will inaugurate the function on 05.12.2018 at 9.30 A.M. The Following awards will be conferred on this occassion.
The Department of Women and Child Development confers Bravery Award every year for the Children who have exhibited exceptional courage and presence of mind to save the life of others in dangerous circumstances. 8 Children have been selected for the Hoysala and Keladi Chennamma Bravery Award for the year 2018-19. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.10,000/-, a memento, citation and a medal.
