BS Yediyurappa the Karnataka chief minister on Friday said that the state has decided to ban firecrackers during Diwali in the wake of COVID-19.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said that the state government will, within a day or two, come out with an order in this regard and people should cooperate in its efforts to control the pandemic.
Firecrackers can badly impact the health of those who have already been infected by coronavirus.
Several states like Rajasthan, Odisha have also banned firecrackers during the festival, citing coronavirus pandemic
