The Khanapur Police have arrested a 26-year-old accused for allegedly raping a 15-year-old minor girl in Khanapur on Sunday.
The accused Santosh Inas Leema, resident of Sangargali village in Khanapur taluk. It is alleged that for the past four months Santosh was raping the victim and she is now 3 months pregnant.
After the incident came to light among few villagers, a couple of them approached an Non Government Organisation (NGO) working for women welfare, which along police reached the village. The father of the victim filed a case with police in late hours.
Police have arrested Leema under Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. The police are also trying to find the other two who had helped Santosh.
