The British era built railway over bridge at level crossing 126a will be closed for vehicular traffic from 6 am of Oct 14, 2017.
This was told in a statement by the DCP Belagavi.

As per the tender new bridge would be 4 laned and will take 18 months to complete.
The alternate routes –
First gate will be one way. One can go from congress road towards Goaves
Second gate is one way to come on to congress road.
Third gate will have both side traffic.

The work should have started at least after Diwali i.e. only after 6 days.

Firstly, they should have widened the railway gates at 1st & 3rd railway gate. Roads approaching these gates are wide. So the entire oncoming traffic converge into a very narrow gate. Hence traffic congestion.
If possible, there should be double gate, each for left and right side traffic.
Prevent right turn from khanapur road to congress road at 3rd gate. Let them take a U turn near Mango medows/Panchmukhi.
