After a droning 2020, 2021 has finally got Belgaumites their much-needed retreat. Their very own, ROSTRUM DIARIES came back to the city to hunt the talent from every potential corner of Belagavi and yet again, this potentially blessed and talented City of Belagavi rose to a higher level.
Rostrum Diaries has always been a stage where art found its way in an innovative and encouraging aspect.
In its third year Rostrum diaries has evolved into a community full of talented artists which include poets, storytellers, script writers etc. Rostrum community primarily aims to bring all the artists, storytellers and poets of Belagavi together and mark Belagavi on the big maps of contemporary world of creativity.
It all began in the year 2018 by two art passionate techies – Abhishek Bendigeri and Parinita Alagudekar and since that time it has been a continuous dedicated work towards the field of art.
Even in the closed doors of national lockdown, Rostrum community got together online to conduct two successful open mics of season 9 and season 10 which went live nationwide with many eminent Bollywood writers, directors and script-writers becoming a part of the community. Now, the community comes back off line on the ground even with a bigger response.
The team conducted the Season 11 of Poetry & Story Telling Session on January 30th at the Hidden door Café, Belagavi. The Event was open for all languages with age 16 and above. A total of 30 Participants participated and recited their poetries & Story Telling in English, Hindi, Kannada & Marathi languages respectively.
Season 11 on Jan 30th highlighted the successful completion of 3 years for this venture. The best part of the event turned out to be the management precautions keeping the recent times in mind where the organisers took the priority care to ensure all safety measures and precautions
Major keynote of the event
➢ This open Mic had as many as 31 participants, it was indeed a house full. Participants performed in all four languages (English, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada).
➢ Rostrum diaries also launched their first book “terribly micro tales”, a compilation of selective poems from thousands of entries all over the country. Terribly Micro Tales is a collection of creative poems and stories written by talented and creative artists from Rostrum Community. You can order a copy of the same from www.rostrumdiaries.in/store
To add another attraction to this season, we arranged two stalls for budding Artists of Belagavi, Ms Swati Hulmani & Mr. Omkar Jadhav.
Who made rostrum merchandise – Book Marks, Greetings, Canvas Paintings, Portraits and Pot paintings. Rostrum gave them an opportunity to encourage their entrepreneur spirit. Rostrum Diaries took this event as an opportunity to announce their future plans for the community, of conducting a literary festival in the coming months which would consist of prominent artists, writers and storytellers, established in their domains. In an address by the special guests, they wished well for rostrum diaries and called for more youngsters and art lovers of all age group, to join this open community and contribute towards the literary goodwill of Belagavi.
